Broc Feeney scores Hidden Valley double pole on Saturday

Championship leader Broc Feeney has scored both pole positions on offer for the opening two races of the Darwin Triple Crown at Hidden Valley Raceway.

In the opening session to decide the grid for Race 17, Feeney was quickest on a 1m 05.984s lap to pip Cam Waters in the Monster Castrol Racing Ford Mustang by just 0.096s, with Matt Payne for Penrite Racing rounding out the top three just 0.101s off pole.

Mobil 1 Truck Assist Racing’s Ryan Wood will start alongside his fellow New Zealander Payne on the second row, with Brodie Kostecki fifth in the lead Shell V-Power Racing Team Mustang ahead of Territorian Bryce Fullwood for Middy’s Racing.

Rookie Kai Allen will start seventh from Snowy River Racing’s James Courtney, the second Monster Castrol Racing entry of Thomas Randle and Mobil 1 Optus Racing driver Chaz Mostert.

Cameron Hill, Jack Le Brocq, David Reynolds, Will Brown and Nick Percat all just missed the top 10.

It capped off a poor pair of qualifying sessions for Brown after failing to make the top 10 for both.

The Supercars teams swapped Soft compound tyres for the Super Soft in Qualifying for Race 18, but Feeney still held sway to complete a pole position lockout on Saturday at a 1m 06.411s.

Unlike the previous session where the Mustangs dominated the numbers, the Chevrolets came to the fore as Anton De Pasquale reversed his form from 19th in the opening session to trail Feeney by 0.057s.

Waters and Allen upheld the Ford honours to sit on the second row from Kostecki, the R&J Batteries Racing Camaro of Andre Heimgartner, Le Brocq, Fullwood, Erebus Motorsport’s Cooper Murray, with PremiAir Racing’s Richie Stanaway completing the top 10.

Wood just missed the top 10 from Courtney, Payne, Reynolds, Will Davison and Randle.

Brown was 17th in this session, while Mostert was 23rd.

Race 17 of the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship is due to begin at 11:45am ACST or 12:15pm AEST.
