Aiming to reverse the poor form Penrite Racing has experienced at Carco.com.au Raceway in Perth, Matt Payne completed the Friday’s action on top of the timesheets.
Payne was fastest on a 54.390s on what was his final lap of the second 30-minute practice session for the day.
Anton De Pasquale continued to display pace in the DEWALT Racing Chevrolet Camaro to be second by 0.085s from Monster Castrol Racing’s Thomas Randle, the lead Red Bull Ampol Racing entry of Broc Feeney and James Golding for PremiAir Racing.
Golding was involved in an interesting incident with Bryce Fullwood when there was a miscommunication between the two leading to slight contact at Turn 1.
Mobil 1 Optus Racing’s Chaz Mostert was sixth from the fastest in opening practice, Jaxon Evans for SCT Motorsport and Will Brown in the second Red Bull Ampol Racing Camaro.
James Courtney continued his strong run in ninth steering the Snowy River Racing Ford Mustang from the Pizza Hut Racing Camaro of Macauley Jones.
Cam Waters, Ryan Wood, Aaron Cameron, Richie Stanaway and Lochie Dalton were just outside the top 10.
Dalton caused the sole red flag of the session when he nearly rolled after running wide at Turn 1.
Cooper Murray also ran through the sand, but managed to recover.
Qualifying for Race 14 will commence at 11:45am tomorrow.
