Shocks in qualifying for Saturday Adelaide race

Broc Feeney may have added an 18th pole position to his already record-breaking tally, but the Red Bull Ampol Racing driver will share the front-row with a Supercars rookie.

Feeney set a 1m 19.971s to secure pole position in the Top 10 Shootout, but a stunning lap from Aaron Cameron in the Blanchard Racing Team Ford Mustang scored second place.

Cameron was fourth in the opening segment of qualifying as Finalist Chaz Mostert missed out on a Top 10 Shootout berth after finishing the session 12th.

Mostert’s teammate Ryan Wood will start third in the Mobil 1 Truck Assist Racing Ford Mustang alongside the DEWALT Racing Chevrolet Camaro of Anton De Pasquale.

Will Brown was up next in the second Red Bull Ampol Racing Camaro sharing the third row with Penrite Racing’s Matt Payne.

Monster Castrol Racing driver Thomas Randle bounced back from his Turn 8 contact in Race 32 to be seventh ahead of Finalist Kai Allen.

Cooper Murray impressed again by making another Top 10 Shootout in his rookie season to be ninth ahead Race 32 winner Brodie Kostecki for the Shell V-Power Racing Team.

Bryce Fullwood joined Mostert in missing out along with Cam Hill, Nick Percat, James Courtney and Cam Waters all the way back in 21st.

Race 33 of the Repco Supercars Championship from Adelaide is due to start at 3:15pm ACDT or 3:45pm AEDT.
