Broc Feeney charges to pole in Darwin

Following on from his race win yesterday, Red Bull Ampol Racing’s Broc Feeney has taken pole position for Race 12 at Hidden Valley Raceway.

Entering the Top 10 Shootout eighth after qualifying, Feeney strapped a phenomenal 1m 05.920s lap to outlast the remaining runners.

It was a welcome return to form for Brodie Kostecki after an engine problem resulted in a DNS for the Erebus Motorsport driver, but he will start second 0.137s off Feeney’s time.

Championship combatant and teammate Will Brown is fourth alongside yesterday’s pole winner James Golding.

Former teammates Jack Le Brocq and Cameron Hill share the third row, with Will Davison leading the Shell V-Power Racing Team challenge from seventh alongside Tim Slade.

Anton De Pasquale and Wildcard Cooper Murray rounded out the Top 10 Shootout runners.

Walkinshaw Andretti United’s qualifying woes continued with Chaz Mostert in 20th and Ryan Wood 24th.

Others to miss the top 10 included Matt Payne in 11th, Andre Heimgartner 12th, Nick Percat 13th, Thomas Randle 17th, Mark Winterbottom 18th, Cam Waters 19th and David Reynolds 21.

Race 12 of the Repco Supercars Championship in Darwin will start at 3:10pm ACST/3:40pm AEST/5:40pm NZST.
