The warm up is used as a final systems check prior to the main event, with teams practicing all facets of pit stops including driver swaps, tyre changes and fuel.
The R&J Batteries Racing Chevrolet Camaro set the pace at a 1m 08.634s from the retro liveried Monster Castrol Racing Ford Mustang of Thomas Randle and Tyler Everingham.

Erebus Motorsport made a mistake during its practice pit stops when the Brodie Kostecki/Todd Hazelwood Camaro was released before the right-rear wheel was tightened. This resulted in the wheel falling off when the Chevrolet attempted to leave its pit bay.
The Penrite Oil Sandown 500 is scheduled to begin at 2:05pm AEST.
