Mark Winterbottom calls time on his Supercars career

Mark Winterbottom has confirmed he will not be part of the Supercars full-time grid in 2025.

After a career spanning over 21 years that includes a Bathurst 1000 win and a Supercars Championship,  Winterbottomwill not be seen on the grid in a full-time capacity next year.

Winterbottom lost his drive with current squad Team18. The decision by the team to replace him with Anton de Pasquale is said to have come as a shock to Winterbottom, who was left with a drive late in the ‘silly season.’

His future plans as a race driver beyond 2024 remain unclear.

“After 21 years in the driver’s seat, I won’t be driving full time in 2025,” he said.

“The past two months has been a difficult time, racing has been a huge part of my life for so long. It doesn’t make it easy when you still have the fire in your belly, the red mist in your eyes.

“I am going to miss driving full time, I am going to miss qualifying, extracting every milli second from the machine, but it is time to reflect on everything I have achieved, be proud and hold my head high.”

Throughout his career, he has achieved a staggering array of statistics, including:

2015 Supercars Champion
2013 Bathurst 1000 Winner
2012 Barry Sheene Medal
2003 Super2 Champion
2003 Mike Kable Young Gun Award
39 Supercars Race Wins
120 Podiums
285 Event Starts
641 Race Starts
36 Pole Positions
87 Front Row Starts

Winterbottom will see out his career in the #18 Team18 Chev Camaro in the final two rounds of the Repco Supercars Championship at the Gold Coast and Adelaide.
