Broc Feeney paces final practice session in Adelaide

Title contender Broc Feeney has taken the ascendency into the Top 10 Shootout after setting the fastest time in final practice at the VAILO Adelaide 500.

Feeney set a 1m 19.764s to top the session from Red Bull Ampol Racing teammate Will Brown by 0.189s.

An incident during a prior support race resulted in the track surface at Turn 13 being covered in oil and Penrite Racing’s Richie Stanaway was the first to strike trouble. The New Zealander was able to save the situation and continue in the session.

Preparing for his maiden Top 10 Shootout appearance, Aaron Love caused the session’s sole red flag when he lost control in the same section as Stanaway, but found the barriers at Turn 14. Although Love was able to return to the pits, the red flag was out.

With 20-minutes remaining in the session, Feeney set the benchmark early and it failed to be bettered.

Behind the Red Bull Ampol Racing duo was Castrol Monster Racing’s Thomas Randle as he prepares to tackle the Top 10 Shootout.

Reigning champion Brodie Kostecki was fourth in the Erebus Motorsport Chevrolet Camaro from the second Castrol Monster Racing Mustang of Cam Waters.

Shell V-Power Racing Team’s Will Davison, R&J Batteries Racing driver Andre Heimgartner, Matt Payne of Penrite Racing, David Reynolds in the freshly repaired TRADIE Beer Racing Camaro and James Golding completed the top 10 in the lead Nulon PremiAir Racing entry.

The Top 10 Shootout is at 12:35pm local time.
