Broc Feeney starts Friday fastest at Bathurst

Championship leader Broc Feeney has set the pace to begin Friday’s proceedings at the Repco Bathurst 1000.

Conditions were the totally opposite to Thursday’s as the drivers attacked the Mountain in sunshine.

Feeney was the first driver this round to dip into the 2m 04s bracket after besting Ryan Wood late in the session.

The Red Bull Ampol Racing driver posted a 2m 04.976s to top the session by just 0.034s from Mobil 1 Truck Assist Racing’s Wood as Feeney’s teammate Will Brown was just 0.044s in arrears.

Monster Castrol Racing’s Cam Waters was fourth 0.091s off Feeney’s pace as David Reynolds completed the top five in the TRADIE Racing Camaro.

Rookie Cooper Murray was sixth for Erebus Motorsport ahead of Monster Castrol Racing’s Thomas Randle, the repaired DEWALT Racing Camaro of Anton De Pasquale, Kai Allen for Penrite Racing and Andre Heimgartner’s R&J Batteries Racing Chevrolet.

Just missing the top 10 were Will Davison, Cameron Hill, Aaron Cameron, Jack Le Brocq and James Golding.

There were a couple of incidents for drivers at Griffins Bend including De Pasquale in the rebuilt DEWALT Racing Camaro, which clipped the outside wall upon exit and this was replicated by Macauley Jones moments later in the Pizza Hut Racing Chevrolet.

The Repco Supercars Championship continues at 1:05pm for another practice session prior to qualifying at 4:10pm.
