SCT confirm switch to Triple Eight

SCT Motorsport will make the switch to Triple Eight Race Engineering for the 2026 season as the championship winning squad expands back to three entries.

For the first time since 2018, Triple Eight Race Engineering will run three entries in the Repco Supercars Championship after the dissolution of Craig Lowndes’ full-time ride after his retirement that season.

SCT Motorsport’s commitment to Triple Eight comes as the long-time General Motors representative makes the switch back to Ford for 2026.

It’s a two-year deal for Triple Eight to build, manage and race the SCT Motorsport entry.

An owner of a Racing Entitlement Contract, then a Teams Racing Contract since 2020, SCT Motorsport has been aligned with Brad Jones Racing during this time.

Brad Jones Racing will also change manufacturer and will enter three Toyota Supras for 2026 having already confirmed its full line-up including new signee Cam Hill.

“SCT Logistics is a market leading, national multi-modal transport and logistics company, it is important to us that our Supercars program is reflective of that also,” said SCT Logistics owner Peter Smith.

“I feel that this exciting announcement for SCT Motorsport to partner with Triple Eight Race Engineering will enable us to deliver on aligning both of our businesses.”

The news comes following confirmation SCT Motorsport’s driver for the past two seasons, Jaxon Evans will not continue with the squad for next season.

“Partnering with Triple Eight provides an amazing opportunity for SCT Motorsport to achieve the success that we set at the beginning of the journey in Supercars and continue the growth of the program that has been built over the past five years,” explained Andrew Jones, Head of Motorsport Programs, SCT Logistics

“Our ultimate aim is to win races, Bathurst and a Championship, this strategic partnership puts us in a terrific position to make that happen.

“My dealings with everyone so far at Triple Eight through the process to bring this partnership to reality have been exceptional and it has given us an insight as to why they have been so successful for such a long period of time. We look forward to contributing to that success into the future as an integral part of the team.”

Triple Eight was a regular fielder of three entries a decade ago when it welcomed Shane van Gisbergen to the fold in 2016 sliding Lowndes into a third Holden VF Commodore.

It has also supplied support to numerous teams through set-up, parts, new builds and much more.

“I’m thrilled to have SCT Motorsport partner with us in 2026 as we expand back to a three car operation,” said Jamie Whincup, Managing Director, Triple Eight Race Engineering.

“Like us, they’ve been involved in the sport for more than twenty years on a quest to

continually strive for excellence.

“Our team has specialised in providing a motorsport service to many partners past and present and we look forward to doing the same for SCT Motorsport.

“I’m already impressed with SCT Motorsport’s commitment to achieve best practice and their willingness to commit to whatever is required to run at the front of the Supercars Championship. I personally can’t wait to see where we can take this new and exciting partnership.”
