Rylan Gray makes Supercars step-up with Shell V-Power Racing Team

Dunlop Super2 Series leader Rylan Gray will replace veteran Will Davison at the Shell V-Power Racing Team for the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship.

Gray enjoys a relationship with Ford Racing through a successful stint in Monochrome GT4 Australia co-driving alongside George Miedecke, with the duo scoring the first win globally for the Mustang GT4.

Shell V-Power Racing Team missed out on one young gun last year in Kai Allen, who has enjoyed a strong debut season in remains in Finals contention moving to Sandown.

Recruiting Gray ensures Shell V-Power Racing Team doesn’t miss out on another as he lines up alongside 2023 Supercars champion Brodie Kostecki.

“Rylan has earned this opportunity through results,” said DJR co-owner Ryan Story.

“We’re investing in the future here. Brodie gives us proven championship-winning pace and pedigree, and Rylan represents our commitment to developing the next generation.

“This combination positions us perfectly for both immediate competitiveness and long-term success.

“We’re not in the business of coming second – we’re building a lineup that can win in 2026 and in the years to come.”

For Gray, the opportunity comes after a strong season in Super2 leading the dominant Tickford Autosport four-strong line-up heading into Adelaide.

“This is my dream opportunity. Brodie’s one of the best in the business and having him as my teammate will fast-track my development,” Gray said.

“I’m under no illusions about how tough my rookie year will be, but I’m ready to work hard and learn from everyone at the Shell V-Power Racing Team.

“I’m so thankful to the Doc, Dick and Jillie Johnson and the Ralph family for this opportunity.”

As for Davison, he re-joined the team in 2021 following a stint from 2006 to 2008 and is now destined to be a popular choice on the co-driver market.

It leaves just one seat at Matt Stone Racing remains open for the 2026 season.
