Brad Jones Racing complete Supra builds

The three Toyota Supras to be raced by Brad Jones Racing in the Repco Supercars Championship have broken cover at Winton.

Andre Heimgartner’s Supra was formally unveiled with its livery prior to its shakedown at Winton, while new teammate Cam Hill experienced his first day as part of Brad Jones Racing and in the new Toyota.

Both these Supras are new builds recently completed by Brad Jones Racing, while Macauley Jones will race a re-skinned Chevrolet Camaro and was only permitted to complete engine testing.

“I’ve got to say it’s a very proud moment for me to be able to stand here and watch these cars go around,” team owner Brad Jones said.

“From here we’ll take the cars back to the shop, we’ll check them from one end to another to make sure everything is OK with them, and then in the truck and off to Sydney Motorsport Park.”

Heimgartner’s entry will again be sponsored by R&J Batteries and is the third Supra livery to be revealed after those belonging to homologation squad Walkinshaw TWG Racing.

“All I can say is ‘wow’. Look at this car, with the R&J Batteries colours on it, it looks amazing,” said Heimgartner

“I have to thank the team for all the effort that has gone into building the Supra. It’s been a challenge, but they’ve achieved something pretty great.

“I can’t wait to get on track today and shakedown the car. I’ve had a couple of laps in the Supra before, but this one’s mine, so it’s a bit different.

“There’s a process to work through with a Shakedown, and while we don’t get a lot of laps, I’ll still have a good feel for the car by the end of it.

“Hopefully, it allows us to hit the ground running on the test day before racing in Sydney. There’s a lot of work to do, but this is the team to do it.”
