Repco welcomes fanatical Bathurst 1000 campers to Mount Panorama for 2026 Great Race

Repco has arrived at Bathurst, greeting race fans at the top of Mount Panorama ahead of a huge week of motorsport festivities for the 2026 Repco Bathurst 1000.

While we are still six days away from finding out who will win ‘The Great Race,’ fans have turned out in force early, with a huge influx of diehards getting ready for Australia’s most prized motorsport trophy.

Some campgrounds opened on Saturday, and already most sites are occupied, with attendees soaking in the atmosphere ahead of another classic 1000km endurance race.

The campgrounds for this year’s Great Race sold out in record time, with every camp site at both the top and bottom of the mountain acquired within 90 minutes of going on sale in May.

Around 200,000 fans are expected to grace Mount Panorama this week, marking the event as one of the most popular on the Australian sports calendar.

The 2025 Repco Bathurst 1000 attracted 198,203 fans – the eighth-highest attendance in the race’s history – and just 10,000 shy of the all-time record of 207,205 set in 2012.

The 2026 Repco Bathurst 1000 marks the sixth year of Repco’s naming-rights partnership with the iconic event, complementing its ongoing support as naming-rights partner of the Repco Supercars Championship.

This will be the first time Toyota, the Japanese car giant, will compete in the race under the Supercars regulations.

Five Toyotas are competing in the race, including one for reigning Supercars champion Chaz Mostert who will take on 10 Chevrolet Camaros and 12 Ford Mustangs.

Practice starts on Thursday ahead of qualifying on Friday, the famous top 10 shootout on Saturday and the 1000km enduro on Sunday that starts at 11:30am AEDT.
