The final two practice sessions for ahead of the Repco Bathurst 1000 have been completed, with the Walkinshaw Andretti United Holden ZB Commodore to be shared by Chaz Mostert and Lee Holdsworth leading the way in both sessions.
Saturday’s Repco Supercars action began with a co-driver session in which Holdsworth finished top of the timesheets with a 2m 05.6421s as he led Dewalt Racing’s James Golding by 0.3963s and Warren Luff was third making it two WAU Commodores in the top three.
Tickford Racing’s Thomas Randle led Dale Wood in the Brad Jones Racing Commodore he’ll share with Nick Percat to complete the top five.
Jonathan Webb, Tim Blanchard, Repco Bathurst 1000 debutant Zak Best, Craig Lowndes and Tony D’Alberto completed the top 10.
The session was stopped after Matt Campbell crashed on Conrod Straight, which resulted from a tap of the wall at Reid Park.
In Practice 2, Mostert pipped Shane van Gisbergen by 0.0117s in the final session before the Top 10 Shootout.
The participants in the shootout filled out the top 10 positions, with Fabian Coulthard in 11th.
Behind Mostert and van Gisbergen were Brodie Kostecki, Anton De Pasquale, Will Brown, Cameron Waters, Jack Le Brocq, Will Davison, Nick Percat and Tim Slade.
The Top 10 Shootout will commence at 5:05pm this evening.
