Back-to-back poles for Cameron Waters at The Bend

Repco Supercars Championship title contender Cameron Waters has taken both pole positions on offer this morning at The Bend Motorsport Park ahead of Races 22 and 23.

In a Tickford Racing domination of qualifying at The Bend Motorsport Park this weekend, Waters set a 1m 48.348s to edge teammate Thomas Randle in the Castrol Racing Mustang by 0.232s.

Championship leader Shane van Gisbergen is not far away finishing the opening session in third ahead of another Tickford Racing entry of James Courtney.

Shell V-Power Racing Team’s Anton De Pasquale will line up fifth alongside Chaz Mostert as Broc Feeney, Mark Winterbottom, Bryce Fullwood and Lee Holdsworth completed the top 10.

Mistakes cost Will Davison after he qualified 23rd, as others to miss the top 10 included Will Brown, Andre Heimgartner, David Reynolds, Nick Percat, Brodie Kostecki and pole winner from yesterday Zak Best filled up to 16th.

Waters backed up his performance in Race 22 qualifying by setting a 1m 48.337s in the following session to edge De Pasquale by 0.038s as van Gisbergen again scored third.

It’s an all-Red Bull Ampol Racing Team second row with rookie Broc Feeney in fourth ahead of Courtney, Brown, Best, Randle, Mostert and Davison.

Penrite Racing’s David Reynolds grabbed the dirt on his hot lap and as a result starts last for the final race.

Fullwood, Winterbottom, Heimgartner, Holdsworth and Kostecki all placed just outside the top 10.

Repco Supercars Championship action continues with Race 22 scheduled for 1pm AEST (12:30pm local time).
