Shell V-Power Racing’s Anton De Pasquale continued his run of form at Sydney Motorsport Park by topping this evening’s opening Repco Supercars Championship practice session.
De Pasquale set a 1m 29.9558s to top the timesheets at the end of a 30-minute session held during the evening.
Behind, Erebus Motorsport’s Brodie Kostecki was second by 0.2706s as Chaz Mostert rounded out the top three in his Walkinshaw Andretti United Holden ZB Commodore.
Tickford Racing appear to be back on form as drivers Jack Le Brocq and Cameron Waters completed the top five.
The rest of the top 10 consisted of Jamie Whincup, Will Brown, James Courtney, Mark Winterbottom and Will Davison.
Team Blanchard Racing’s Tim Slade was the only driver to encounter a problem after his onboard jack failed, forcing him to miss the majority of the session.
Earlier in the day, the co-drivers enjoyed much needed miles prior to the Repco Bathurst 1000 and it was Kelly Grove Racing’s Matt Payne – deputising for Luke Youlden – who finished the session on top with a 1m 31.0953s.
Lee Holdsworth was second fastest, 0.0818s behind the Kiwi young gun as Kurt Kostecki finished third.
Matt Campbell placed fourth in Andre Heimgartner’s Kelly Grove Mustang ahead of James Moffat, Zak Best, Thomas Randle, Jayden Ojeda, Dale Wood and Warren Luff.
Practice 2 kicks off tomorrow’s Repco Supercars action at 11:50am AEDT ahead of qualifying, the Top 10 Shootout and Race 29 running into the evening.
