Brad Jones Racing has taken back the Golden Rattle Gun after winning the Pirtek Pit Stop Challenge in the centre of Bathurst.
Featured as part of the Repco Bathurst Street Party, the finals were held in front of a large crowd featuring BJR, Matt Stone Racing and Blanchard Racing Team competing in the semi-finals.
BJR has dominated the Pirtek Pit Stop Challenge previously winning every edition from 2019 until 2023, with Triple Eight Race Engineering breaking the run last year.
The first semi-final was between Matt Stone Racing and Blanchard Racing Team, with the former taking the win to move into the final.
Eager to take back the crown, BJR had both of its crews up against each other in the second semi-final. In the end, it was Andre Heimgartner’s crew making its way to the final.
For the final, a slow left-front wheel for MSR gave BJR a dominating victory to regain the Golden Rattle Gun.
“These guys work so hard at doing this and it’s just the a just reward for a job well done,” Jones said.
“It’s a great start to the weekend and man, they smashed it. I couldn’t be prouder. We certainly are at a point where, when we follow someone in, it’s a very good chance we’re gonna beat them out.”
The opening session of the Repco Bathurst 1000 will commence on Thursday at 1:20pm AEST.
