Broc Feeney has continued Red Bull Ampol Racing’s run at the top in the final practice session of the Repco Bathurst 1000 weekend.
There was a scare for the sister Red Bull Ampol Racing Camaro of Will Brown during the session when he attempted to avoid a slowing Chaz Mostert, but both ended up on the inside forcing the reigning champion to quickly jink to the right and into a spin. Mostert in turn had just let Thomas Randle through further complicating the incident.
Mostert finished second in the session, only bested by Feeney on a 2m 04.969s as the gap between the duo was just 0.146s.
Cam Waters was third for Monster Castrol Racing ahead of Erebus Motorsport rookie Cooper Murray and provisional pole-sitter Brodie Kostecki rounding out the top five driving the Shell V-Power Racing Team Mustang.
Sixth was Thomas Randle in the second Monster Castrol Racing entry ahead of Mobil 1 Truck Assist Racing’s Ryan Wood, DEWALT Racing driver Anton De Pasquale, with Penrite Racing duo Matt Payne and Kai Allen completing the lead 10.
Top 10 Shootout bound Nick Percat led a close pack of drivers including David Reynolds, James Golding, James Courtney, Will Davison, Cameron Hill and Rylan Gray.
Next up for the Repco Supercars Championship is the Top 10 Shootout at 5:05pm.
