Red Bull Ampol Racing appears to have snapped its mid-season form slump as Broc Feeney secures pole for Race 25 of this year’s Repco Supercars Championship.
Feeney was superb in the Top 10 Shootout to snatch pole by 0.055s from Monster Castrol Racing’s Cam Waters.
A 53.647s did the job for Feeney ahead of Waters and third-placed Repco Sprint Cup leader Matt Payne, who has a little work to do.
Ryan Wood will share the second row in the Mobil 1 Truck Assist Racing Toyota GR Supra, while Brodie Kostecki will be one to watch from fifth for Shell V-Power Racing Team alongside DEWALT Racing’s Anton De Pasquale in the lead Chevrolet.
It was a turnaround for the Blanchard Racing Team with both of its entries making the shootout as James Golding starts from seventh and Aaron Cameron lines up ninth.
Thomas Randle is in between from eighth and David Reynolds completed the top 10 for Snowy River Racing.
The three-stage Qualifying session provided surprises in part to Will Brown being among the first to be knocked out alongside Kai Allen after power steering problems emerged for the Penrite Racing Mustang.
Jayden Ojeda and Zach Bates were others to not go through.
Race 25 is due to begin at 3:20pM AWST/5:20pm AEST.
