Brodie Kostecki on pole for final Taupo encounter

Brodie Kostecki has finished fastest in the Top 10 Shootout to score his second pole position of the weekend in Taupo.

Kostecki was fastest in the earlier qualifying session and converted this in the Top 10 Shootout to pole where he clocked a 1m 25.705s.

Sharing the front-row will be Dewalt Racing’s Anton De Pasquale after setting the benchmark for Kostecki to beat as the 2023 Supercars champion eclipsed it by 0.167s.

Following on from his maiden podium in Race 8, Ryan Wood will start third in the Taupo finale for Mobil 1 Truck Assist Racing alongside Supaglass Racing’s Cam Hill after he was second in qualifying.

Thomas Randle was fifth for Monster Castrol Racing ahead of Race 8 winner Matt Payne in the Penrite Racing Mustang, while teammate Kai Allen impressed to be seventh.

Andre Heimgartner lines up eighth as he pursues a repeat of his Sunday victory last year in the R&J Batteries Racing Camaro.

Filling out the first five rows are Chaz Mostert for Mobil 1 Optus Racing and the lead PremiAir Nulon Racing Camaro of James Golding.

Cam Waters also failed to take advantage and will start 18th.
