After entering the Top 10 Shootout from sixth, Brodie Kostecki has elevated the Shell V-Power Racing Team Ford Mustang to pole for The Bend 500.
Kostecki set the pace on a 1m 16.375s, with Penrite Racing’s Matt Payne falling 0.073s short of the benchmark time in a closely contested Shootout.
Fords will fill out the first four grid slots courtesy of the Monster Castrol Racing Mustangs of Cam Waters and Thomas Randle lining up on the second row ahead of provisional pole-sitter entering the Shootout, DEWALT Racing’s Anton De Pasquale.
Sharing the third row is Kai Allen in the second Penrite Racing Mustang, while Broc Feeney led the Red Bull Ampol Racing charge in seventh from Zach Bates for Bendix Racing, Erebus Motorsport’s Shootout debutant Jobe Stewart and and Jayden Ojeda in the PremiAir Racing Camaro.
Those to miss the Top 10 Shootout included Chaz Mostert after qualifying 11th, Will Brown from 13th, Ryan Wood in 14th and Andre Heimgartner was the lead Brad Jones Racing Toyota GR Supra in 19th.
Awaiting on Sunday is the 147-lap The Bend 500 beginning at 1:45pm ACST/2:15pm AEST, with a warm up for the Repco Supercars Championship commencing at 10:15am ACST/10:45am AEST.
