Brodie Kostecki has achieved back-to-back Repco Bathurst 1000 pole positions after setting the fastest time in the Top 10 Shootout.
Held in the early evening, the Top 10 Shootout provided many surprises as Richie Stanaway set the early benchmark at a 2m 05.928s, which proved hard to beat.
Anton De Pasquale and Jack Le Brocq failed to topple the reigning Bathurst winning co-driver and so too Andre Heimgartner after he went wide at Hell Corner.
Chaz Mostert and Will Brown failed to better Stanaway as his first sector was especially superior.
Kostecki was up next and he set a perfect lap to demote Stanaway by more than 0.4s.
Three drivers in Broc Feeney, Cam Waters and Matt Payne were left, but they didn’t have enough to beat the reigning champion to pole position.
Alongside Kostecki will be Waters as Feeney and Stanaway share the second row. Will Brown starts fifth beside Le Brocq, with provisional pole sitter Payne seventh from De Pasquale, Mostert and Heimgartner.
The 2024 Repco Bathurst 1000 will commence at 11:30am AEDT tomorrow.
