Brodie Kostecki tests Erebus Camaro at Winton today

Reigning Supercars champion Brodie Kostecki has returned to the driver’s seat today, testing his #1 Erebus Motorsport Chevrolet Camaro at Winton Motor Raceway.

It has been 136 days since the 26-year old last drove a Supercar, when he took the chequered flag and his maiden Supercars title in Adelaide last November.

After missing the first two rounds of the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship, Kostecki made waves this week with the surprise news that he will return to Erebus Motorsport to race at next weekend’s Supercars event in Taupō, New Zealand.

Adelaide’s Todd Hazelwood filled in for Kostecki at the season’s opening two rounds, and will co-drive for Erebus in the endurance races later this season.

Perth-born Kostecki, who now lives on the Gold Coast, won six races and 10 poles en route to the series crown in 2023.

Kostecki has a tall task to catch up to the Triple Eight duo of Will Brown and Broc Feeney, who head the championship table after a fast start to season 2024.

All 24 Supercars and their accompanying equipment will be packed up this weekend for the trek across the Tasman for next weekend’s ITM Taupō Super400.

Corporate hospitality options remain available across the weekend, however grandstand and general admission tickets for Saturday and Sunday have sold out for Supercars’ inaugural event at Taupō.

Live coverage of Supercars’ first ever event in Taupō can be found on Sky Sport in New Zealand and Foxtel in Australia. Live streaming is available on Kayo, with highlights in Australia available on the Seven Network and 7plus.
