Cam Waters completes the pole sweep in Sydney

Continuing his perfect opening Repco Supercars Championship weekend, Cam Waters has scored pole for the final race of the Thrifty Sydney 500.

Waters set the pace in the Top 10 Shootout on a 1m 29.610s to continue his pursuit of a complete sweep of the round, but Red Bull Ampol Racing’s Broc Feeney will share the front row determined to prevent this after a puncture curtailed his race last night.

Former teammates Brodie Kostecki of Shell V-Power Racing Team and Red Bull Ampol Racing’s Will Brown share the second row.

Penrite Racing’s Matt Payne leads James Golding of PremiAir Nulon Racing, the second Shell V-Power Racing Team Mustang of Will Davison, Erebus Motorsport leader Jack Le Brocq, the TRADIE Racing Camaro of David Reynolds and Chaz Mostert rounded out the top 10 in the Mobil 1 Optus Racing Ford.

Those to miss the Top 10 Shootout included Thomas Randle, Ryan Wood, Kai Allen, Cam Hill and Bryce Fullwood.

Anton De Pasquale, Nick Percat, Andre Heimgartner and Richie Stanaway will start well down for the final encounter in Sydney.

Race 3 is due to start at 4:05pm.
