Chaz Mostert sets record to take Repco Bathurst 1000 pole position

Chaz Mostert has scorched to pole position for tomorrow’s Repco Bathurst 1000 after setting the fastest time ever recorded by a Supercar around the Mountain.

Running third last in the Top 10 Shootout, Mostert drive his Walkinshaw Andretti United Holden ZB Commodore to a 2m 03.3736s.

Sharing the front row is the form driver when it comes to pole positions, Anton De Pasquale in the Shell V-Power Racing Team Ford Mustang as he fell 0.2898s short.

Third on the grid is Cam Waters in the Tickford Racing Mustang, while alongside Brodie Kostecki leads the Erebus Motorsport charge.

Provisional polesitter Will Brown ended the Top 10 Shootout fifth and will share the third row with Tim Slade in the Team Blanchard Racing Ford Mustang.

Red Bull Holden Racing Team’s sole representative Shane van Gisbergen lines up seventh, 0.9912s off the pole pace.

Shell V-Power Racing Team’s Will Davison lines up alongside, with Brad Jones Racing’s Nick Percat and the first driver in the Top 10 Shootout, Tickford Racing’s Jack Le Brocq.

UPDATE: Both Erebus Motorsport entries have been disqualified for having underweight doors.

Tomorrow’s Repco Bathurst 1000 starts at the later time of 12:15pm.
