D1NZ Grand Finale at Baypark this weekend

Following a tight four round title fight, the Repco D1NZ Series concludes this weekend at the spectacular Mercury Baypark Stadium.

Two international stars originating from New Zealand in the form of Darren Kelly and Cole Armstrong make a return to competition at Baypark. Kelly will return in his potent Nissan R35 GTR, while Armstrong was part of the Repco D1NZ commentary team last year as he returns in the wild RB30-powered S13.

More than 30 drivers across Pro and Pro Sport classes will battle it out for supremacy, but the driver leading Pro entering the grand finale is Kase Pullen-Burry holding a 94-point margin to Australian ace Luke Fink. In Pro Sport, Keisuke Nagashima holds a 34-point lead to Daniel Edwards.

Many activations will be on hand to entertain fans across the event including the Kiwi Monster Thunder truck, which returns to action following six years in storage and a four month rebuild. Also, rides can be purchased on this machine in the paddock for $10 per person.

Racing sims will provide fans with the opportunity to get behind the wheel thanks to The Cave and The Rock Radio. Also on May 8, many drivers will be at The Cave for a meet and greet, while another activation will be for the families as Brush Queens Facepainting will make an appearance on Saturday.

If fans have a really trick road car they can enter the Street Car Showcase with prizes for the top four and the highest ranked 16 parading on track.

The Drift Car Cruise will return as the spectacular Repco D1NZ entries wind the way from Baypark down to the strip on Marine Parade from 12:30pm.
