Fast food giant Wendy’s to back Macauley Jones in New Zealand

When a team launches a new livery at five in the afternoon, you really want something tasty.

And that’s exactly what we got when Macauley Jones took the covers off his deliciously looking Wendy’s Chev Camaro for the Taupo round in New Zealand this weekend.

The iconic global hamburger and fast food giant has made a gradual play down in New Zealand over the past few years, with plans to also expand to Australia, and now, it can claim to making as all very hungry as Jones darts around the Taupo circuit.

The Brad Jones Racing-run Camaro will feature the hamburger chain’s famous cameo character logo – the little red-headed girl with pigtails – promoting the 20-plus Wendy’s restaurants located across New Zealand, spanning from Auckland in the north to Dunedin in the south.

Wendy’s is no stranger to race cars, either, having ties with NASCAR team Trackhouse Racing showcasing the branding across their Xfinity and Cup cars, including on NZ expat Shane van Gisbergen’s Camaro.

Supercars will be on track at Taupō from Friday the 19th for practice at 12:55 NZST/10:55 AEST ahead of the two races this weekend.

And right now, we are hungry … Thanks Macauley.
