Ford’s B-Series Falcon proved a spectacular success in the showroom and on the race track, with FPV launching with the model range to add a rival to HSV and a forgotten model from the era is the Force variant.
A luxury model designed to go toe-to-toe with the HSV’s Senator, it offered a unique option compared to its rival courtesy of the 4.0-litre turbo engine.
Introduced as part of the BF II range in late-2006, the Force provided FPV with a classier, subdued appearance, but performance matched the GT and F6 models featuring lairy features.
Although not a sales success as only 99 Force 6s and 95 8s were built, it began a line of subtle Ford performance models lasting until the end of Falcon production in 2016.
Colours available were restricted to black, silver, dark green, blue, dark grey in addition to contrasting red and white.
This continued inside the interior as woodgrain inserts in the dash and doors mated to luxury leather seats.
Despite the lack of sales success, the Force 6 and 8 continued into the FG generation renamed the GT-E or F6-E depending on the engine configuration.
