The next generation of the Repco Supercars Championship will take to the track this weekend in front of its biggest audience yet at the Australian Grand Prix.
Following displays at last year’s Repco Bathurst 1000 and at last month’s second round at Symmons Plains, Gen3 will continue its display tour for the first time in Victoria after a test earlier this year at Winton was cancelled due to the ergonomics being improved.
Queensland Raceway has hosted the bulk of testing so far, but the sold out Australian Grand Prix event will give plenty of race fans their first opportunity to witness Gen3 in the flesh.
“The Gen3 Camaro Supercar will be on the track at various stages in the weekend’s programme,” said Chevrolet Racing general manager Chris Payne.
“It will be looking resplendent in its new black livery and will also create a cacophony of noise thanks to its Chevrolet Racing 5.7-litre LTR V8 engine.
“It arrives in Melbourne fresh from testing and a visit to Tasmania as part of the most recent round. It’s a real treat to have it here for race fans to see and hear.
“We’re looking forward to an exciting new era for motorsport under the Chevrolet Racing banner and eagerly await the arrival of the Gen3 Camaro ZL1 Supercar on the grid at the start of the 2023 season.”
On display in the Champions Gateway will be General Motors Specialty Vehicles Sliverado Heavy Duty and the Corvette C8 Stingray at this weekend’s Australian Grand Prix.
