Formula 1 personality Guenther Steiner is set for a wild ride at the 2024 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival when he jumps in a Ford Mustang Supercar alongside Supercars champion James Courtney.
The animated and forthright Steiner, who became a household name through the Formula 1 Netflix series ‘Drive to Survive’, will be in the passenger seat to experience the V8 power of a current Mustang Supercar, with the ride set to take place at the 2024 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival at 2:15pm on Saturday 16 March.
Steiner’s driver is the most experienced racer in the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship with Courtney in his 19th full-time season, winning 15 races, including two Adelaide 500s, and the Supercars drivers’ championship in 2010. The Ford Mustang Supercar coming to the event is from Courtney’s current Supercars team, the Blanchard Racing Team.
Courtney and Steiner’s paths crossed in Formula 1 when the former was a test driver and the latter team principal at Jaguar Racing between 2001 and 2002. Steiner is also no stranger to Ford, having worked for the Blue Oval in its World Rally Championship factory team in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Steiner is amongst a host of Formula 1 personalities at the 2024 Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival, alongside drivers Valtteri Bottas and Liam Lawson, world champion Damon Hill and commentator David Croft.
Held the week prior to the Australian Grand Prix, the Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival is a museum in motion, displaying historic, rare and significant racing vehicles on the Victoria Park section of the Adelaide Street Circuit.
Categories featuring Formula 1, V8 Supercars, Group C and A touring cars, sportscars and more will feature over the course of the Repco Adelaide Motorsport Festival, in addition to on-track demonstrations, off-track displays, villas and more.
