It’s time for the Repco Supercars Championship to return to a venue infamously nicknamed ‘The Paperclip’ – Queensland Raceway.
Despite some doubt surrounding its place on the 2027 Repco Supercars Championship calendar, Queensland Raceway continues to be upgraded by its owner Tony Quinn and provides great racing.
This event also marks the final round of the Repco Sprint Cup, with Penrite Racing’s Matt Payne favourite to score the crown.
Last year was a clean-sweep for Triple Eight Race Engineering, but the champion squad has experienced an abnormal season due in part to a change to Ford and the highly publicised restrictor problems for Will Brown.
A trio of Wildcards join the field at Queensland Raceway led by Bayley Hall making his Supercars debut in the Team 18 Chevrolet Camaro, Ben Gomersall is another making his first start for Tickford Racing and Aaron Seton returns in his Matt Stone Racing entry following an earlier outing at Townsville.
The layout of the weekend for Supercars is a sole practice session on Friday ahead of two-part Qualifying for the first two races, while the last will feature two knockout sessions leading into a Top 10 Shootout.
Race lengths are at 39-laps for the first two events and 68 for the finale on Sunday.
Live coverage of each session will be broadcast on Fox Sports 506 and Kayo, while Sky Sports is the place to watch the action in New Zealand.
