James Golding signs on at Blanchard Racing Team

James will replace James at the Blanchard Racing Team for the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship season.

James Golding will make the switch from PremiAir Racing to the Blanchard Racing Team to replace retiring veteran James Courtney.

Golding joins the Blanchard Racing Team following two and a half seasons at PremiAir Racing where he scored the squad’s maiden pole at Darwin last year, but hasn’t enjoyed the same performance in 2025.

The switch aligns with the Blanchard Racing Team’s future relationship with Triple Eight Race Engineering in 2026.

“I could see the direction the team is heading and it’s an exciting opportunity to be part of building that momentum,” said Golding.

“BRT is a young team with big potential, and their ambitions align closely with my own. I had other options on the table, but this was the one that I can see success in.

“I’m looking forward to contributing to that journey and working together to achieve strong results.”

Golding debuted in the Supercars Championship as a Garry Rogers Motorsport endurance driver in 2016 and graduated to full-time in 2017.

A forced sabbatical due to Garry Rogers Motorsport’s withdrawal at the end of 2019 ended when he joined Team 18 as an enduro driver later that season as he returned full-time halfway through 2022 at PremiAir Racing.

Blanchard Racing Team co-founder Tim Blanchard revealed the news.

“We’re excited to welcome James to Blanchard Racing Team on a multi-year deal,” said Tim Blanchard.

“He’s proven he has the pace and consistency to compete at the top level, and we believe he’s the right driver to take the team to the next level.

“Securing James gives us stability and a strong platform to continue building, and we’re looking forward to seeing him behind the wheel in 2026.”

Current driver Aaron Cameron remains hopeful of retaining his seat.
