Red Bull Ampol Racing’s Jamie Whincup has put Chevrolet at the top of the timesheets after the opening 30-minute co-driver only practice session.
Whincup set a time of 1m 50.587s to finish 0.208s clear of Todd Hazelwood for the Shell V-Power Racing Team from the two Penrite Racing Mustangs of Dale Wood and Garth Tander.
The R&J Batteries Racing Chevrolet Camaro of Declan Fraser completed the top five ahead of Erebus Motorsport’s Jarrod Hughes, TRADIE Racing driver Lee Holdsworth, James Moffat in the Monster Castrol Racing Mustang, Triple Eight Race Engineering Wildcard’s Zach Bates and Mark Winterbottom rounded out the top 10.
Moffat endured a fraught session of heading off track, but still was good enough to set a time inside the top 10.
Outside the top 10 were Scott Pye, Jack Smith, Zak Best, Rylan Gray and Brad Vaughan.
A final session for the Repco Supercars Championship will be held at 3:55pm ACST/4:25pm AEST.
