Ford and Chevrolet seat one session apiece following the first taste of Albert Park for the Repco Supercars Championship.
Rookie Jayden Ojeda snared the fastest lap in an interrupted opening session, then the second was cut short by that same driver.
PremiAir Racing’s Ojeda led the way on a 1m 47.880s to lead a Chevrolet 1-2 in the opening session, with Anton De Pasquale’s DEWALT Racing Camaro finishing 0.736s and rookie Rylan Gray third for the Shell V-Power Racing Team.
Red Bull Ampol Racing’s efforts were led by Will Brown in fourth as Blanchard Racing Team’s James Golding, Brodie Kostecki in the second Shell V-Power Racing Team Mustang, Monster Castrol Racing driver Thomas Randle and Broc Feeney.
Cam Waters was ninth in the Monster Castrol Racing Mustang and Matt Payne for Penrite Racing completed the top 10.
Kai Allen just missed from the first Toyota Supra of Ryan Wood, Cam Hill, Chaz Mostert and David Reynolds.
A couple of incidents included Golding nudging the wall at Turn 8 and Cooper Murray visiting the pit lane with smoke bellowing from his Camaro.
Aaron Cameron led the way in a shortened second session following Ojeda’s significant hit at Turn 5, which resulted in a red flag.
Cameron had set a 1m 47.880s time to lead Matt Stone Racing rookie Zach Bates by 0.366s.
Monster Castrol Racing pair Waters and Randle were next from Allen, Golding, Payne, Brown, Kostecki and Gray.
Qualifying is up next for the Repco Supercars Championship at Albert Park from 2:20pm AEDT.
