Penrite Racing will give 2025 signee Kai Allen an early debut with the team after Richie Stanaway was ruled out due to concussion.
Allen was due to drive the Penrite Racing Mustang in Race 23, but this was vetoed by the other Super2 teams and the team’s endurance driver Dale Wood was installed instead.
This time, Allen has the approval to race in Sunday’s Supercars finale and will make his solo debut.
“Following further medical consultation, Richie Stanaway has not been medically cleared to take part in today’s Supercars Championship proceedings,” read a Grove Racing statement.
“As such, Kai Allen will step into car 26, following dispensation from Supercars and Motorsport Australia.
“Grove Racing would like to extend their thanks to all Super2 teams and the Repco Supercars Championship for helping to facilitate this.”
Allen will be the second driver making his solo debut following Cooper Murray replacing Jack Le Brocq at Erebus Motorsport.
Le Brocq and partner Mackenzie welcomed a baby girl Romy Mae.
