As the LIQUI MOLY Bathurst 12 Hour is just 30 days away, further Repco Supercars Championship drivers have been added to the roster set to contest the internationally respected event.
Triple Eight Race Engineering has confirmed Shane van Gisbergen will lead its Pro Class Mercedes-AMG GT3 entry alongside young gun Supercars teammate Broc Feeney and factory driver Maximilian Gotz.
In last year’s edition the team supported winner Kenny Habul’s efforts in the SunEnergy1 Racing entry as its entry shared by van Gisbergen, Feeney and Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS regular Prince Jefri Ibrahim finished third.
Joining the Triple Eight Race Engineering pair at the Mountain will be Shell V-Power Racing Team driver Anton De Pasquale as he joins the Grove Racing GT squad of father-son duo Stephen and Brenton Grove in a Porsche 997 GT3-R.
Prior to the 12 Hour, De Pasquale will contest the Dubai 24 Hour with the Groves and Porsche ace Earl Bamber.
Craig Lowndes will suit up for the race he has won twice previously again as he’ll share a Pro-Am Class Mercedes-AMG GT3 with Geoff Emery, Scott Taylor and Supercars enduro driver Alex Davison.
Another Mercedes-AMG has been confirmed by Tigani Motorsport led by rising star Aaron Cameron as Marcel Zalloua, Sergio Pires and Duvashen Padayachee complete the quartet.
Of course, BMW announced its dual M4 GT3 attack prior to Christmas featuring MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi in its driver line-up. Porsche team Manthey Racing with support from Australian squad EMA Racing confirmed its participation as did Mercedes-AMG operation GruppeM, while Craft Bamboo was one of the first teams to state its intention to enter.
GT3 is entering a new era through new models for Porsche, Ferrari, Honda, Lamborghini, Ford, Corvette, Toyota and more all set to compete within the next couple of seasons. No new models will contest the LIQUI MOLY Bathurst 12 Hour this year.
