NASCAR star reveals wildcard Ford Mustang entry for bp Adelaide Grand Final

Repco, Armor All and Ford will be the brands that power NASCAR Cup Series star Austin Cindric in his Repco Supercars Championship wildcard debut at the bp Adelaide Grand Final in two weeks’ time.

The 27-year-old American will compete against Australasia’s best touring car drivers in a Tickford Racing-prepared Ford Mustang around the famous streets of Adelaide – the scene of the championship’s maiden Grand Final that will crown the 2025 Supercars champion.

Hailing from Columbus, Ohio, Cindric will be the first American driver to compete in the Repco Supercars Championship since IndyCar stars Alexander Rossi and James Hinchcliffe raced at the Bathurst 1000 in 2019.

Repco Rewards will feature prominently on Cindric’s Mustang, with prime placement on his #5 entry at the Adelaide Grand Final. Repco Rewards members can look forward to plenty of exciting experiences and prizes exclusive to the event, making the championship-deciding round even more rewarding.

The #5 dark blue and orange Mustang will also feature support from Ford, including branding for the all-new Mustang Cup Australia and the iconic Mustang silhouette adorning the flanks of the wildcard entry. Armor All, the Official Car Care products sponsor of the Repco Supercars Championship, will appear prominently along both sides as well as on the bonnet and rear spoiler.

Cindric’s Supercars program begins at a Sandown’s ride day on this Monday, followed by two additional test days at The Bend in South Australia, before joining the grid as the 25th entry for the bp Adelaide Grand Final on November 27–30.

The three-time NASCAR race winner has competed full-time in the USA’s premier stock car series since 2022, winning the Daytona 500 as a rookie, and qualifying for the NASCAR Playoffs in 2022, 2024 and 2025. He previously tested a DJR Team Penske Ford Falcon FG X in 2016 and raced at the Bathurst 12 Hour in 2015.

“I’ve been a fan of the Supercars Championship since I was a kid. I’ve always rated the drivers and teams in the category highly,” Cindric said.

“So needless to say, my interest has been high for an opportunity to test myself against the best, all while still getting to soak in the atmosphere of what I think should be a great weekend of racing at the Adelaide Grand Final.

“I can’t think of a better way to finish off a full year of racing than an adventure like this.

James Warburton, Chief Executive Officer, Supercars, said: “Austin’s debut with Tickford is a genuine crossover moment that will engage Supercars fans here and NASCAR fans abroad, and it underscores the strength of our partnerships heading into a winner‑takes‑all weekend in Adelaide.”

Wayne Bryant, Chief Merchandising and Growth Officer, Repco, said: “Repco has a proud legacy in Australian and international motorsport, and we’re excited to support Austin Cindric’s Adelaide debut in a Tickford Ford Mustang.

“Seeing Repco on the car at the Grand Final is a powerful way to celebrate our ongoing commitment to the Repco Supercars Championship and to the fans who live and breathe this sport.”

Mark Verzi, Business Director, Energizer Australia and New Zealand, said: “For more than 20 years, Armor All and Supercars have shared a passion for performance and bringing world class car care to racing fans and families across Australia and New Zealand. This year, that partnership extends into an exciting collaboration between Repco and Tickford with a spectacular livery takeover of their Mustang at the Adelaide Grand Final.

“We’re proud to stand alongside Repco and Supercars as we celebrate the end of an amazing season and we look forward to creating even more unforgettable moments and delivering ongoing opportunities for Repco customers and Supercars enthusiasts in the future.”
