Penrite reveal expanded Grove Racing commitment at Melbourne landmark

Australian oil company Penrite has confirmed its expansion of support for Grove Racing by revealing two Ford Mustangs at Melbourne’s Luna Park.

Drivers David Reynolds and Lee Holdsworth were on location to show off their 2022 steeds in front of the famous entrance of Luna Park in St Kilda on Australia Day.

“Today is Australia Day and we have come out early to reveal our Penrite livery and we thought there was no better place than Luna Park,” said Reynolds.

“This place is an icon of Australia and Melbourne, and Penrite is an all-Australian brand, so we brought those two things together.

“We have a test day coming up in February and it will be the most important day to start the year. We have heaps of new components to try, heaps of ideas and new people to upskill and train for the day. It is going to be a huge day.”

Holdsworth returns to the full-time Supercars driving roster in 2022, but follows the biggest success in his career at Bathurst late last year.

“It’s Australia Day, we’re outside Luna Park, a great Australian icon, and we’re launching our two car Penrite Racing team,” said Holdsworth.

“The cars look fantastic, and it looks really professional having two cars that look the same. It’s great that Penrite has stepped up their support for the team to have the two cars look identical.

“We’re looking forward to having them on track – the season can’t come quick enough.”

Focus for the team turns to the Supercars pre-season test at Winton on February 22 before the opening round at Sydney Motorsport Park on March 4-6.
