Pole number 10 for Brodie Kostecki

In an extremely close Top 10 Shootout where the leading six drivers were separated by 0.140s as championship winner Brodie Kostecki took his 10th pole position of the season.

Kostecki set a blistering 1m 19.543s to take pole position as the fast man leading into the session, Repco Supercars Championship rookie Matt Payne fell just 0.031s short of the time.

Both Penrite Racing Ford Mustangs made it into the Top 10 Shootout, bit Payne’s teammate David Reynolds copped a kerb strike at the Senna Chicane to drop to 10th on the grid.

Making up the second row are two Mustangs in the form of Monster Energy Racing’s Cam Waters and Chaz Mostert in the Mobil 1 Optus Racing example.

A last gasp lap from Broc Feeney placed him inside the top 10 in qualifying and he will start the lead Red Bull Ampol Racing Camaro fifth alongside the Castrol Racing Mustang of Thomas Randle.

Nulon Racing’s James Golding moved up three positions to be seventh, sharing the fourth row with local driver Todd Hazelwood in the Blanchard Racing Team Mustang in his final start at the team.

Andre Heimgartner struggled to be ninth in the R&J Batteries Camaro as he shares the fifth row with the aforementioned Reynolds.

The final event of the season in Adelaide, Race 28 will commence at 2:45pm ACDT/3:15pm AEDT.
