Recent announcements shake up 2025 Supercars grid

The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship grid is taking shape after recent announcements centred around Team 18.

Current Shell V-Power Racing Team driver Anton De Pasquale will join former Erebus Motorsport mentor David Reynolds at the Melbourne-based squad.

De Pasquale will replace Supercars veteran Mark Winterbottom at Team 18 as the 2015 champion revealed via social media.

“To my supporters, the last 24 hours has been a whirlwind, as I was told that Team 18 signed a different driver for 2025,” he wrote.

“I don’t really know what the future holds, I’m still digesting the news, but I know I can hold my head high as a professional sportsman.

“I have given 110 percent and loved working with the team crew and all the sponsors, you are great people.

“I truly value the support from my family, friends, sponsors and supporters, at a time when I need it most.”

In a shock move by Team 18 to replace Winterbottom, who took the squad’s first pole position and race win since joining in 2019.

De Pasquale is eager to join Team 18 for the 2025 season.

“I’m super pumped to be joining Team 18 in 2025,” said De Pasquale.

“It’s a really exciting next step for me in my career and I’m looking forward to progressing with Charlie, [team principal] Adrian [Burgess] and the team and being apart of what they’re building for the future.

“Looking forward to chasing that common goal and getting stuck into it next year!”

Team 18 Owner Charlie Schwerkolt is thrilled to reunite Reynolds and De Pasquale.

“It’s exciting to have Anton De Pasquale join the team next year.

“Anton’s a clear standout in the next generation of drivers coming through the sport. He’s a proven winner and has what it takes to be a future champion of the sport.

“It’s great to have Dave and Anton back together and it’s an exciting driver line-up to take us through our next growth phase.

“We’re looking forward to what’s to come.

“I’d like to thank Mark for his contribution to the team. We have shared some great successes together, including our first pole position and race win, and have enjoyed every step of the journey together along the way.”

De Pasquale’s departure leaves the a seat open at Shell V-Power Racing Team favoured to be Brodie Kostecki’s destination next year.

PremiAir Nulon Racing was understood to be chasing both drivers to replace Tim Slade, who is rumoured to be leaving the team at season’e end.

Kostecki’s replacement at Erebus is believed to be Triple Eight Wildcard Cooper Murray.
