Red Bull Formula 1 car to feature at bp Adelaide Grand Final

Formula 1 was the star attraction at the Adelaide Parklands Circuit back in 1980s and 1990s, but will mark a return of sorts in November.

The Oracle Red Bull Racing team will attend the bp Adelaide Grand Prix as part of a 40-year celebration since Formula 1 first raced in the city.

It will be a serious operation as the team will bring 12-crew and a Formula 1 specification garage to support the cameo appearance.

A speed comparison encompassing various eras of Formula 1 and local racing history is planned, which is due to also include the B186 Benetton driven by Gerhard Berger in the 1986 Australian Grand Prix.

‘We are stoked to have Oracle Red Bull Racing here at the bp Adelaide Grand Final in a win for South Australian, interstate and international motorsport fans,” said CEO of the South Australian Motor Sport Board, Mark Warren.

“Between the all-important Repco Supercars Championship title-deciding drama in its exciting new format, Oracle Red Bull Racing’s Formula 1 car will do justice to the quality design, history and lifelong fans of the Adelaide Street Circuit.

“Formula 1 is the pinnacle of motorsport internationally and it is guaranteed to be a memorable experience amongst our packed entertainment schedule and high-speed engines both on and off the track.”

This activation adds to many including NAPA Speedway to occur during the Repco Supercars Championship’s final event, the bp Adelaide Grand Final on November 27-30.
