Repco Brabham BT 19 with Mark Larkham

Mark Larkham tells us about the history and significance of the Repco Brabham BT 19 that Jack Brabham took victory in the 1966 Formula 1 Championship.

He shares his passion for the race car, the amazing history that is tied up in Australia, Repco and 2 significant men, Ron Tauranac and Sir Jack Brabham who worked with Repco to develop an engine to go racing with in ’65 and ’66. In 1966 Jack took the car to victory and won the Formula 1 World Championship in this exact car.

Larko interviews Sam Brabham, the grandson of Sir Jack, asking how it feels to drive such an iconic car at the iconic Bathurst track. Sam took the car around the mount panorama circuit for the first round of the Repco Supercars Championship and had an ear to ear grin the whole time he was driving.

Repco has kept and maintained the Repco Brabham BT 19 in working shape for many years and were very proud to have the car on display in its usual race attire at the event.
