Repco Ignites the Thrill of Drifting in New Zealand

In a groundbreaking move for New Zealand drift fans, Repco New Zealand has today announced its high-octane partnership with the D1NZ series for the 2023-2024 season.

As the season’s naming rights sponsor, Repco is set to amplify the excitement of drifting, kicking off with the five-round series at the prestigious Taupō International Motorsport Park from 15-16 December.

This season will deliver even more electrifying action than ever, with the series making a much-anticipated return to the South Island in early 2024. Repco, a name synonymous with car enthusiasts across New Zealand, is enhancing its longstanding support of the D1NZ series, stepping up to headline the championship.

This is more than a sponsorship; it’s a fusion of passion for drift and motorsport, through the shared values and commitment to excellence that both Repco and D1NZ uphold,” said Elizabeth Cox, GM for marketing of Repco New Zealand.

D1NZ Managing Director Brendon White expressed immense pride in welcoming the direct backing of Repco to the D1NZ family, acknowledging the significant impact of this collaboration on the sport.

“Repco is a high-profile operation that continues to grow – and that’s where we compliment each other as we take D1NZ to an even greater level. The focus on digital content and live in-person activations, prioritising fan-first content and engagement, mirrors the shared enthusiasm of both organisations for an immersive and interactive motorsport experience.”

The return of D1NZ to the South Island is to Nelson’s STP Kohatu Drift Park in late February, followed by the mid-March round at Hampton Downs alongside the Super Sprint season finale. The penultimate round will be held at Manfeild mid-April with the final at Baypark 10-11 May.

Fans are in for a number of new experiences for the coming season as the series expands its show across activations and televised content.

The season will again be broadcast across Sky Sport (New Zealand) and Fox Sports (Australia).
