It’s race week leading into the biggest race of the Repco Supercars Championship and the fans have arrived early to Mount Panorama.
Repco has welcomed thousands of campers to the mountain as the build up begins before the event formally starts when Touring Car Masters hit the track at 7am on Thursday.
The 2025 edition of The Great Race marks Repco’s fifth as naming rights sponsor and is the 65th in the events history, originally starting at Phillip Island as a 500-mile event for production cars.
Repco Ambassador Gary Reid was on hand to greet fans on top of Mount Panorama where he showcased the latest offerings from the Repco Fleet; the Bathurst Tour Bus featured in the latest commercial and a BMW M3 F82, which were also joined by the C10.
“Everyone says it, but Bathurst seems to get bigger each year and the festivities start earlier,” said Reid.
“We’re up here Tuesday morning and it is loaded at the top of the Mountain already. There won’t be a car on-track for another couple of days yet, but the crowd has come out in force for a good time. The weather looks good, so it’s great to be back.
“Like every year, Repco has a bunch of stuff for the fans because it’s all about the fan experience here at Bathurst.
“Obviously, we’ve bought the Bathurst Bus out. It was a huge hit in the TV ad and we’re going to be driving it around, we’re going to have it available for photo opportunities with the fans and we’re going to complete some laps on the track in it, which will be fun.
“We love this race. It is all about the fans here at Bathurst and I just love getting amongst it.”
Repco will have many activations and giveaways throughout a mammoth Bathurst 1000 weekend on October 9-12.
