Shane van Gisbergen and Will Davison share Sunday poles

Shane van Gisbergen has broken the Mustang stranglehold at Pukekohe Park Raceway to score pole for Race 28, but was unable to prevent it as Will Davison took the final one to be awarded at the venue.

It’s an all-Red Bull Ampol Racing Team front-row for Race 28 as van Gisbergen clocked a 1m 02.109s to edge teammate Broc Feeney by 0.062s.

Davison lines up third in the Shell V-Power Racing Team Ford Mustang alongside his teammate Anton De Pasquale, while after just missing the podium yesterday Chaz Mostert will start fifth in the Walkinshaw Andretti United Holden Commodore.

Nulon Racing’s Scott Pye, the Monster Energy Racing Mustang of Cameron Waters, David Reynolds in his Penrite Racing example, Brodie Kostecki for Boost Mobile Racing by Erebus and Andre Heimgartner in his R&J Batteries Commodore completed the top 10.

Davison turned the tables in qualifying for Race 29, which will be the final event for the Repco Supercars Championship at Pukekohe Park Raceway.

Achieving a 1m 01.921s, Davison returned to the top as he led Waters by 0.229s, with De Pasquale third from the lead Holden of rookie Feeney.

Heimgartner improved to fifth from Pye, Reynolds, van Gisbergen, Mostert and his Walkinshaw Andretti United teammate Nick Percat.

In a packed final day at Pukekohe, Race 28 will begin at 12:55 PM (10:55 AM AEST) before the last event on the program at 4:10 PM (2:10 PM AEST).
