An expanded 14-round calendar has been announced for the 2027 Repco Supercars Championship headlined by the category’s return to Phillip Island for the first time since 2019.
The 2027 season marks the 30th anniversary since the Supercars moniker was first used and its fitting Phillip Island returns to the schedule after a prolonged absence after being part of the 1997 calendar.
Phillip Island replaces Sandown as the penultimate round of the Finals, with Sandown switching to host the last round of the Sprint Cup in place of Queensland Raceway.
Sydney Motorsport Park retains its spot as the season opener before the Repco Supercars Championship moves to Tasmania and Symmons Plains Raceway a fortnight later.
Next up is the category’s traditional support role to the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, then the New Zealand doubleheader follows at Ruapana Raceway and Taupo International Motorsport Park.
On its return to Australia, the Repco Supercars Championship heads to the Top End’s Hidden Valley Raceway, which will host its first night race.
Townsville is up next before the final round of the Sprint Cup at Sandown.
The Enduro Cup remains unchanged as The Bend Motorsport Park leads into the Repco Bathurst 1000.
Finals will continue to begin on the Gold Coast, before moving to Phillip Island and concluding at the Adelaide Grand Final featuring a new layout for 2027.
Supercars executive chairman and interim CEO Barclay Nettlefold welcomed the announcement of the 2027 calendar.
“The 2027 Championship calendar is one that we’re incredibly proud to deliver for our fans, teams, partners and stakeholders, as we prepare to celebrate Supercars’ 30th anniversary,” Nettlefold said.
“The return of Phillip Island as part of the Finals will resonate with our most loyal fans, while new elements like night racing in Darwin and the revamped Adelaide street circuit continue driving the sport to new heights.
“Fans and drivers will return to venues they love, with race formats that deliver the spectacle and entertainment Supercars is known for. We believe this calendar strikes a strong balance between the number of events and the rhythm of the season.
“We would like to thank our race teams, venues, and government and strategic partners for their continued support in building a 2027 season that honours 30 years of Supercars while setting the stage for another unforgettable championship battle.”
The confirmation of the 2027 calendar arrives after prolonged negotiation between category owner RACE and all Supercars teams resulting in an updated Teams Racing Charter agreement.
