Teams have worked through the night and have successfully repaired two badly damaged entries ahead of practice and Race 23 at the VAILO Adelaide 500.
SP Tools Racing’s Cameron Hill and the TRADIE Beer Racing entry of David Reynolds were involved in an incident at Turn 8 heavily damaging both Camaros.
For Hill, it’s the third time in as many years he has hit the wall at the challenging corner starting in 2022 when he was in Super2. He experienced a similar scenario last year except on Sunday when the team completed a rebuild ahead of the final race.
Team 18 has also been through a tough period after Reynolds crashed heavily at Bathurst, rushing to build up a new chassis ahead of the Gold Coast. This was heavily damaged in the Turn 8 incident, but has been repaired before the third practice session of the weekend.
Richie Stanaway kicked off the destructive turn of events when he was the first to collide with the outside concrete in the Penrite Racing Mustang, but this was already repaired in case of a restart to the session on Friday afternoon.
Repco Supercars Championship action begins on Saturday of the VAILO Adelaide 500 at 10:00am local time.
