The Holden Commodore thrilling rally fans overseas

A Holden VN Commodore has thrilled local rally fans and recently expanded its reach by competing in Italy.

Four decades after Peter Brock and Allan Grice took on the Europeans in VK Commodores, Braeden Kendrick did the same at the recent Rallylegend event in San Marino.

Kendrick’s VN Commodore is a unique beast having been constructed by Milldun Motorsport using a variety of high-performance parts headlined by the 5.7-litre Chevrolet LS1 engine.

A sequential six-speed gearbox send power to the rear wheels through a nine-inch diff, while the seats, steering column and pedal box have been moved inward.

The way the VN has been constructed is a major advancement compared to the team’s previous VK, which was written off.

Rallylegend has been held for more than 20-years featuring some of the most iconic models to take on the dirt and tarmac. The event features 10 stages situated on the tarmac of San Marino where hordes of rally fans line the streets.

Much like Grice and Brock before him, Kendrick thrilled the Italians on the San Marino stages through lurid driving and the snarling sound of the LS1.
