Special Vehicle Options or SVO for short provided hotted up performance models for Ford in the US, but the name carried over to Australia in a separate organisation during the 1990s.
Used in Australia during the 1980s in a number of applications from Dick Johnson for a Turbo XF Falcon to Mick Webb and his special performance Falcons based in Melbourne.
Webb registered the name first and took ownership of the SVO name for his range of performance Fords during the 1990s.
Peter Brock had previously offered modified Falcons, but SVO offered a wide range of improvements to the S Pac and Fairmont Ghia.
The EA Falcons to have gone through the SVO workshop left with customised ROH 16” rims, MOMO steering wheel, Bilstein shock absorbers, Lovells lowered springs, Whittling sway bars, limited slip diff, upgraded engines, subtle spoilers and distinctive two-tone colour scheme.
Although SVO continued its enhanced range of Falcons and Fairlanes into the AU model, the EA proved the most popular.
More than 600 sedans and Fairlanes in addition to 100 Utes were produced.
SVO was also involved in building Falcon AUSCARs for the Calder Thunderdome.
