Thomas Randle completes perfect opening day for Tickford on the Gold Coast

It’s been all Tickford Racing so far at the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 as Thomas Randle set the pace in the second session to complete a Friday clean-sweep after Cam Waters was on top in the first.

Randle set the fastest lap time for a Gen3 Supercar in the second session at a 1m 10.376s to shade teammate Waters to the tune of 0.029s, while Penrite Racing’s Matt Payne locked out the leading positions in third despite nudging the wall at the final corner.

Red Bull Ampol Racing’s attack was led by Broc Feeney in fifth ahead of Erebus Motorsport’s Brodie Kostecki and championship leader Will Brown.

R&J Batteries Racing’s Andre Heimgartner was the lead Brad Jones-run entry in seventh from James Courtney displaying solid pace in the Snowy River Racing Mustang, while Anton De Pasquale replicated his position in opening practice to be ninth.

Mobil 1 Optus Racing’s Chaz Mostert finished 10th ahead of rookie teammate Ryan Wood and TRADIE Beer Racing’s David Reynolds in his new Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.
