In tribute to Ken Block, Repco The Garage has trawled YouTube to find his top five best videos and yes, it was a hard choice indeed.
Whether its his highly popular Gymkhana series and its offshoots or his sampling of a Supercar to his World Rally Championship career, Block certainly lived his life to the fullest.
Check out the five videos below:
#1 Gymkhana 1
Where else can we start, but the original Gymkhana video as it started a phenomenon back in 2008. As to be witnessed in the rest of this list, these Gymkhana videos continued to get wilder and wilder.
#2 The V8 Supercar swap
Block in a Supercar? It did happen back in 2011 when he completed an exhibition run at Melbourne’s Calder Park Raceway alongside then Ford Performance Racing drivers Will Davison and Mark Winterbottom. Of course the two V8 Supercar stars received the privilege of piloting Block’s amazing Ford Fiesta from Gymkhana 3.
#3 Gymkhana 5: Ultimate Urban Playground, San Francesco
Who else could close a bustling city to hoon around in? No one but Block. The previous four Gymkhana instalments hadn’t left the racetrack or airport or even shipping yards, so to get on closed public streets around San Francisco made this one special.
#4 Ken Block in the WRC
Ken Block was the the first American to contest full seasons of the World Rally Championship and gave the sport a big lift in his home country. Here, he finishes seventh on the 2013 Rally Mexico.
#5 Electrikhana: High Stakes Playground, Las Vegas
A couple of things here. Block had just struck a deal with Audi and was making his Gymkhana debut for the brand, while also doing the same with an electric powerplant. Mixed in with the sights of Las Vegas, just wow!
Bonus – Of course there was going to be bonus content
